18th June – 4th July 2011 – The Sir John Vanbrugh Theatre Opening Festival
A wonderful festival fortnight of music, theatre and lectures from King’s pupils and famous  names, to celebrate the opening of our new theatre, to be named after famous Old King’s Scholar Sir John Vanbrugh (1664-1726) who was a dramatist and architect. He was one of the most influential members of the British ‘baroque’ movement in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. Vanbrugh was the architect of Castle Howard and Blenheim.
